His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, TODAY left for Malaysia to attend the 47 th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, which will be held on 26th to 28th October 2025 in Kuala Lumpur. Accompanying His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen. Prior to leaving Istana Nurul Iman, Doa Selamat was recited by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

 

Present at His Majesty the Sultan's Flight Hangar in Rimba to bid farewell to His Majesty were members of the Royal Family. Also present at His Majesty the Sultan's Flight Hangar to bid farewell to His Majesty were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-pengiran Cheteria; the Speaker of the Legislative Council; Cabinet Ministers; Members of the Privy Council; Deputy Ministers; the Commissioner of Police, the Royal Brunei Police Force and the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

 

Upon arrival at Subang Air Base, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir, Minister of Higher Education, Malaysia. Also present were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs; Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr. DAYANG Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md. Salleh, Minister of Education; and Mohd. Aizul Hakim bin Pehin Orang Kaya Indra Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Suyoi, Acting High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia. His Majesty then proceeded to walk past the Static Guard of Honour mounted by the 1st Battalion, Royal Rangers Regiment.

 

With the theme “Inclusivity and Sustainability", Malaysia, as the Chair of ASEAN this year gives emphasis to ASEAN's shared progress in ensuring that no one is left behind, and underscoring ASEAN's commitment towards strengthening regional peace, stability and prosperity within an inclusive, sustainable and future-oriented framework. While in Kuala Lumpur, His Majesty will also attend a Get-Together Ceremony with Students as well as Citizens and Residents of Brunei Darussalam who are in Malaysia.
